2009 Season News

Hi all,

We want to congratulate all Fall River spring travel teams on a successful 2009 season.

Fall River United had the best winning percentage of any club in SCSL. Fall River had seven teams make the playoffs and will be sending five teams to this year’s MTOC. The GU11 and BU18 made it to the semi-finals. The BU11 earned an MTOC wild card spot by winning away at New Bedford. Three teams won their age division for the regular season: BU13, GU14 and GU19. The BU13, GU14 and GU18 also won their respective championship matches to earn berths into the 2009 Mass Tournament of Champions.

We believe that our organization is one of the strongest in the League thanks to the dedication and hard work of all our coaches, players and families. Our young teams had fantastic seasons and were very competitive. The future looks very promising for these teams; the key (and challenge) is keeping them together.

Special thanks are extended to John Paiva and his parents for doing a great job hosting the GU10 Friendship Tournament for the SCSL.
